Parks / Trails

Water Dog Lake Park:
A woodsy canyon trail with a canopy of live oak, eucalyptus, and Scotch broom. The trail, over 130 years old, was the original road to Half Moon Bay. It's a 3 mile loop, with a gradual ascent that brings you to Water Dog Lake in about 20 minutes from the entrance on Lake Street. Fishing is permitted, but swimming and boating are strictly prohibited. The City of Belmont leases the lake and the surrounding land from the College of Notre Dame, it's current owners.

Twin Pines Park:
Located just down Ralston before El Camino Real, Twin Pines is a 10-acre park owned by the city of Belmont, which houses the Belmont Historical Society Museum, Belmont Parks and Recreation, and the Senior and Community Center. The park is frequented by visitors picnicking and people attending various events throughout the year, including free afternoon concerts each Sunday in the summer, Peninsula Open Studios in the Fall, and Belmonts Art and Wine festival each summer.
